Certifications offered by the CTB

The ISTQB® divides its certifications into 2 categories: "Core" and "Specialist", with 3 subcategories under Specialist. The CTB is proud to have exams for the following ISTQB® courses (click on the syllabus version to download the most up-to-date documents from the relevant ISTQB page):

Exam Information (Duration and Requirements)

Important Note:

The ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL) is a requirement for any participant wishing to get certified in any other ISTQB certification.  

1-Hour Exams

40 questions, minimum of 65% required to pass

Participants taking an exam in their non-native language can apply to a receive 25% time-extension accommodation (15 extra minutes). This must be approved prior to registration.

  • ISTQB CT-AI 

  • ISTQB CT-GenAI

  • ISTQB CT-MAT 

  • ISTQB CT-AuT

1.5-Hour Exams

40 questions, minimum of 65% required to pass. Questions vary from 1-3 points.

  • ISTQB CT-PT

  • ISTQB CTAL-ATT

  • ISTQB CT-STE (special case 75 minutes)

Participants taking an exam in their non-native language can apply to a receive 25% time-extension accommodation (22.5 extra minutes). Slightly less for CT-STE. This must be approved prior to registration.

2-Hour Exams

40 - 45 questions, minimum of 65% required to pass. Questions vary from 1-3 points.

Participants taking an exam in their non-native language can apply to a receive 25% time-extension accommodation (30 extra minutes). This must be approved prior to registration.

Special Case Exams

Taking an Exam with CTB Exam Questions

The Caribbean Testing Board use exam partners to deliver all forms of the ISTQB® Exams in the English-speaking Caribbean and beyond:

  • Online exams (remote for individuals)

  • Center exams (via 5200 Pearson Centers)

  • Online exams (onsite for Groups)

  • Paper exams (onsite for Groups)

  • Open (public) exam sessions
